Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G), New Jersey’s largest utility, is upgrading the electric power supply in Bergenfield to meet the increased demand for power and improve electric reliability to customers and businesses. Most recently, PSE&G has been replacing and/or installing new underground and overhead electric facilities in the vicinity of our Bergenfield Substation which is located behind DiBella’s Music Store on South Washington Avenue at the intersection of Liberty Street.
In late August 2012, PSE&G will begin upgrading the interior of the Bergenfield Substation. Construction activities will occur within the confines of the property and along the northern boundary of Meyers Court, between Palisades Avenue and Longview Court in Teaneck. No road closures are anticipated at this time, however, nearby residents will likely notice an increase in truck traffic in this area. Our Bergenfield customers will not experience any interruption of electric service during substation construction.
PSE&G and its contractors, Burns & McDonnell and J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc., will adhere to all PSE&G safety and environmental standards and procedures, and will work closely with local Police to minimize disruption. Over the next 12 months, it is anticipated that we will often work extended hours to shorten the project duration and minimize inconveniences as much as possible.
PSE&G will make every effort to complete the work expeditiously, while maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety. Questions about this project may be directed to PSE&G’s Electric Utility Upgrade contact number at 908-558-7565.
