Mayor’s Message - January 2020

Bergenfield Mayor Arvin AmatorioWelcome to the new Bergenfield Borough website. This site is designed to help both our residents and small business owners easily navigate through valuable information. On behalf of the Council and myself, I hope that our site is a useful resource.

This year, the Council and I, together with our engineers and DPW, identified the roads for immediate repairs. The majority of them are roads leading to our schools such as Highview, Melrose, Whitman, School Craft, East Englewood, part of Clinton, Grove, a portion of Windsor, Brookview Terrace and Sunset Place. We will also start renovating and improving all our 16 public parks.

Additionally, we are striving to make Bergenfield an excellent place for businesses to set up shop. We will work with developers and companies that may wish to relocate to Bergenfield while driving traffic to our downtown area.

I look forward to getting more grants this year so we can finance many of our infrastructure projects without affecting our budget and keep our property taxes stable.

I will continue my conversations with our neighbors, small business owners, seniors, veterans, borough hall employees, and members of all different religious faiths. I believe that it is crucial to work with all stakeholders to provide exceptional services to all that call Bergenfield home.
