BERGENFIELD, NJ -- Bergenfield is announcing plans to upgrade all 12 parks in the Borough this spring in order to improve recreation areas for children. The project is expected to be completed by Memorial Day which would allow Borough children to enjoy the renovated parks all summer.
“Our administration has made it a priority to ensure that our kids have adequate spaces to engage with other children, play and get a healthy amount of exercise,” said Mayor Arvin Amatorio. “We are prepared this spring to make necessary improvements to equipment and fencing at our parks so that our children have quality, safe places to play.”
Equipment includes new slides, jungle gyms and freestanding climbing apparatus. The Borough will be completing the project in a cost efficient and timely manner so that no tax dollars are wasted.
“It is exciting that we are moving forward on these important park renovations,” said Councilwoman and Liaison to the Parks and Recreation Department Ora Kornbluth. “Bergenfield has some of the best parks in the county and our Parks Department works hard to maintain them. I look forward to seeing this project completed so that our children have top notch equipment to use this summer.”
