Bergenfield Police Department Hosting ‘Bike with a Cop’ Community Event on Sunday

The Bergenfield Police Department will be hosting a “Bike with a Cop” community event on Sunday, October 4. Beginning at 8:00 a.m., officers will conduct safety presentations at Police Headquarters, 198 N. Washington Avenue, and provide participants with street safety information. At 9:00 a.m., a police guided bike ride will make its way down Columbia Avenue to Prospect Avenue to the high school. Refreshments will be served at this stop before a second leg of the ride makes its way to Memorial Park.

“The Bergenfield Police Department is committed to protecting and serving the residents of Bergenfield every day of the year,” said Police Chief Mustafa Rabboh. “One of the most rewarding parts of being on the job is the ability to give back to the community in a way that is enjoyable, safe and educational for everyone. Our officers are looking forward to meeting with residents in a positive setting for a morning bike ride.”

At the completion of the event, refreshments will be served and raffles will be conducted at Memorial Park. Residents interested in attending are required to complete the hold harmless agreement found on the Borough’s website.

“This weekend’s ‘Bike with a Cop’ event sponsored by the Bergenfield Police Department is an excellent opportunity for residents to meet and interact with the officers who protect our community,” said Mayor Arvin Amatorio. “I encourage residents and their families to come out to enjoy a morning bike ride and safety programs with our officers.”
