Bergenfield Public Library Awarded $25,000 Grant to Purchase Exterior Pick Up Lockers

BERGENFIELD, NJ -- The Bergenfield Public Library has been awarded a $25,000 grant that will allow them to purchase exterior pick up lockers. These lockers, once installed, will allow library patrons to pick up their requested materials outside of normal hours of operation.

“I am thrilled to see that the Bergenfield Public Library has received this well deserved grant money that will help them assist our residents even more,” said Mayor Amatorio. “Throughout the pandemic library staff has done a tremendous job ensuring that residents could easily access valuable library services and for that I thank them.”

Residents will be able to scan their library card and the specific locker holding their particular items will open. Available services will include electronic resources like eBooks and eAudiobooks as well as streaming content.

“This grant money will go a long way in helping us improve library services and the purchase of these lockers would not be possible without it,” said Library Director Allison Ballo. “These lockers will help create a library that's available to residents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”

"All Hours Access" at the Bergenfield Library is supported with funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the New Jersey State Library.
