Deductibility of prepaid property taxes

Please be advised, the Borough cannot provide any advice on whether or not taxpayers should pre-pay taxes, how much to pre-pay, or the possible tax impact, which will depend on individual circumstances, future IRS rule-making, and possible future legislation, over which the Borough has no control.

RE: IRS Advisory on Deductibility of Prepaid Property Taxes Offers Some Guidance

Dear Mayor:

As a follow-up to yesterday’s letter, here is the latest we have concerning the recently adopted Federal Income Tax Reform bill that will cap the allowable deduction for combined State and Local Taxes (SALT) at Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00), per year.

Department of Public Works laborers (part-time)

Bergenfield, NJ is seeking part-time Public Works Laborers. CDL/Class B Drivers License preferred but not required. Additional skills such as masonry, carpentry, electrical and plumbing also preferred but not necessary. Could lead to full-time position. Salary is $15/hour. EOE. Event reminders:

  • Remember to have candy available on Tuesday, October 31 if you are participating in Trunk or Treating or have a business on South Washington between Clinton Ave and Main St.
  • South Washington between Clinton Ave and Main St will begin closing at 2PM on Tuesday, October 31
  • Vehicle entry onto South Washington for registered Trunk or Treating participants will start at 3PM
  • Trunk or Treating will begin at 4PM
  • The Halloween Parade will begin at 5PM
  • Food Crawl Passports are Now Available for FREE at local businesses and $5 deals will run from October 31 - November 5
