Wednesday (11/16/22)- Daily Leaf Collection Update

Today, (11/16/22), the DPW leaf crews collected at the following:

Northeast side of Borough, from New Jersey Ave to Merritt Ave.

Northwest side of Borough, from Gallagher Ct to part of Graphic Blvd. 

 

Thursday (11/17/22), the DPW leaf crews will continue in the following areas:

Phelps Ave moving South.

Williamson Rd working South.

 

Please remove cars from the streets that the DPW leaf crews are working on so that they can clear the leaf piles. 

Monday (11/14/22)- Daily Leaf Collection Update

Today, (11/14/22), the DPW leaf crews collected at the following:

West side of the Borough, moving North from Franklin Ave, Sugden to Blauvelt.

East side of the Borough, from Brookview to Terrace.

Tuesday, (11/15/22), the DPW leaf collection crews will continue in the following areas:

Finishing Stillman Ave, then moving to Johnson Ave, moving South.  

East side of the Borough, moving south from East Broad St.

Tuesday (11/15/22)- Daily Leaf Collection Update

Today, (11/15/22), the DPW leaf crews collected at the following:

Southeast end of Borough, finishing south of E. Broad Street. Also, starting Twin Boro Lane.

Wednesday (11/16/22), the DPW leaf collection crews will start the route from the Dumont border, starting at Gallagher Ct working West of Prospect Ave, as well as New Jersey Ave, moving South. 

 

Please remove cars from the streets that the DPW leaf crews are working on so that they can clear the leaf piles. 

 

UPDATE: Hickory Avenue Paving Project

The paving project on Hickory Avenue will begin tomorrow, Saturday, the 12th at 6am with milling. On Monday morning the paving will begin from Washington Avenue moving towards Tenafly.
 
Hickory Avenue residents, if you require to leave your home after 8am, please make arrangements to park your vehicle on a side street away from Hickory as no driving on the roadway will be permitted.
 
For parents, dropping children off at Jefferson School:
Morning Drop off:
• Please allow yourself extra time to navigate the traffic due to the road work.
• Access to Hickory Avenue will be extremely limited in the morning.
ALL CAR DROP OFFS ARE TO BE ON EAST JOHNSON AVE, AND NOT IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL. School Staff will be outside until the last car is unloaded on E. Johnson Ave.
• Walking students (from the other side of the street from the school) - PLEASE CROSS AT 3rd AVENUE, IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL WITH THE ASSIGNED CROSSING GUARD FOR EVERYONE'S SAFETY.
During school hours, the paving will be completed and be past the school prior to dismissal. However..
 
Dismissal:
• Hickory Avenue will still be closed to car traffic, unless notified otherwise.
• Please park away from Hickory Avenue and walk to the school to pick your child up at their normal pick up location. School Staff will be with your child until you arrive.
Cross at the crosswalk with the crossing guard @ 3rd Avenue to ensure safety.

Thursday (11/10/22)- Daily Leaf Collection Update

Today, (11/10/22), the DPW leaf crews collected at the following:

West side of Borough, from Haring St to Arlington St. between W. Clinton Ave and W. Main St.

East side of the Borough, from Pleasant Ave, Highland and the Marcotte Lane Area. 

Monday (11/14/22), the DPW leaf collection crews will continue in the following areas:

West Side of the Borough, from S. Franklin Ave to Prospect Ave going North. 

East side of the Borough, from east of Washington Ave and south of E. Clinton Ave. 

 

Please remove cars from the streets that the DPW leaf crews are working on so that they can clear the leaf piles. 

 

** Due to the inclement pending weather paving on Hickory has been cancelled for Friday 11/11/22. Roadwork will continue Saturday 11/12/22 as scheduled.

Today, (11/9/22), the DPW leaf collected at the following:

West side of Borough, from Morgan Street to W. Clinton Ave

East side of Borough, from Porter Ave to Pleasant Ave (from Orchard to Tenafly border) 

Tomorrow (11/9/22), the DPW leaf collection crews will continue in the following areas: 

West side of Borough, working between W. Clinton Ave and W. Main St.

Southeast side of Borough, finishing Pleasant Ave, Highland, and the Marcotte Ln area

 

*Please remove cars from the streets the DPW leaf crews are working on so that they can clear the leaf piles. 

**Hickory Ave will be paved between 11/11/22 and 11/14/22, please avoid putting leaves in the street on Hickory during that time. 

Tuesday (11/8/22)- Daily Leaf Collection Update

Today (11/8/22), the DPW leaf collection crews collected at the following:

South side of Borough (between S. Prospect and Woodbine) from Schoolcraft to Lake Street

Northeast side between Grove St and Clinton Ave.

Tomorrow (11/9/22), the DPW leaf collection crews will continue in the following areas:

West side of the Borough working in the Anderson Ave area.

East side of the Borough starting, at Porter Ave, working towards Washington Ave. 

*The leaves have fallen heavy and fast, we are working on getting them cleaned up **
