“The entire Borough of Bergenfield mourns the loss of Donny Morris, who was sadly killed while celebrating Lag BaOmer in Israel. My heart breaks for the young man that lost his life on Friday as well as for the families of all of the victims. No parent should ever have to bury their child and I would like for the family of Donny to know that our community is behind them. At just 18 years old, Donny was just beginning his life and it is a tragedy that it was abruptly cut short.”

Bergenfield Vaccinates 100 Residents for COVID-19 in Three Hours During Walk-in Event at Conlon Hall

BERGENFIELD, NJ -- The Borough of Bergenfield is continuing to lead the way on vaccinating residents after vaccinating 100 people for COVID-19 today at Conlon Hall during a walk-in event. The Moderna vaccine was administered by the Bergenfield Health Department to residents without requiring an appointment.

“I am tremendously proud of the work that our Health Department and all of our municipal staff have done to keep residents safe and healthy during this health crisis,” said Mayor Amatorio. “Not only are we vaccinating residents at an incredible pace, but we are also planning daily physical activities and stressing the importance of healthy eating as part of our Mayors Wellness Campaign to beat COVID-19.”

As a result of more people showing up to be vaccinated than supply would allow, the Health Department took down the information of residents that were not able to be vaccinated and will ensure that they are vaccinated as quickly as possible. The Borough plans to hold additional vaccination events in the future.
