PSE&G offers tips for residents on flooding
Residents: below is the text of a press release that was issued by PSE&G last evening:
PSE&G PREPARES FOR FLOODING -- OFFERS TIPS FOR CUSTOMERS
(Newark, NJ – March 9, 2011) Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) Company, New Jersey's largest electric and gas utility, is closely monitoring weather conditions and preparing for heavy rain and subsequent flooding in portions of northern New Jersey. The utility offers the following tips for safety and restoration:
Bergenfield Borough Hall delayed opening - Wednesday, February 2
Due to the icy weather conditions, Bergenfield Borough Hall will open at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 2. Bergenfield Borough Hall delayed opening - Thursday, 1/27
Due to the heavy snow fall, Bergenfield Borough Hall will open at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 27th. Bergenfield garbage pickup in 2nd & 4th Quadrants and 3rd Quadrant paper pickup cancelled due to snow storm
The impending snow storm has forced the cancellation of garbage pickup in Bergenfield's 2nd & 4th quadrants. 3rd Quadrant Paper pickup is also cancelled.
Residents are reminded that all vehicles must be removed from borough streets to facilitate snow removal by the Dept. of Public Works. Vehicles parked on the street will be ticketed and towed by the police department.
Residents are also reminded not to throw snow into the streets. Throwing snow into the street hampers snow removal and endangers vehicluar traffic. Thank you for your cooperation.

Bergenfield Borough Hall delayed 3-hour opening
Due to the snow storm, Bergenfield Borough Hall will open at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11. January 12 Municipal Court session cancelled
The January 12, 2011 session of the Bergenfield Municipal Court is cancelled due to the pending snowstorm. All cases will be rescheduled by the Court Clerk and you will be notified by mail of the new Court date. Bergenfield Bulk Pickup in Quadrant 2 (Northwest) postponed from Wednesday to Thursday due to impending Winter Storm
Bulk pickup scheduled for Wednesday, January 12th in Quadrant 2 (Northwest) has been postponed until Thursday January 13th due to the impending snow storm.According to the National Weather Service snow is expected to start to fall this evening (1/11), continue overnight and throughout most of Wednesday (1/12) with the heaviest snow fall between midnight and noon on Wednesday. Total accumulations are now predicted to be in the 7-10 inch range. Expected wind gusts up to-25 mph may produce near blizzard conditions.
Do not place bulk pick up items at the curb until after 6 pm on Wednesday night, January 12th.
