E-mail Print PDF

The Bergenfield Health Department needs your help! The Department is planning to raise awareness in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We are working with the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer for a walkathon, in hopes of raising awareness as well as funds to support those affected by Breast Cancer.

The walkathon will take place on October 18, 2015 at 10am at the New Overpeck Park, 199 Challenger Road in Ridgefield Park, NJ. Wearing something pink at this event is encouraged! This event is a great family outing too. Music, exercise and helping raise funds for a good cause leads to a sense of wellbeing for all. This event may qualify as community service hours for your school age child. Check with your school to verify. A letter of participation at the event can be obtained at the Health Department if needed for your child.

To sign up with Bergenfield’s Health Department use the link: www.makingstrideswalk.org/ridgefieldpark and select ‘Team Bergenfield Health Department’. Residents from all over Bergen County are invited to participate in the walk. Donations to support the efforts of the American Cancer Society are not required, but are much appreciated.

Please contact our Health Department public health nurse Patricia August, RN if there are any questions pertaining to the walk-a-thon and the Bergenfield Health Department’s upcoming events. Contact number: 201-397-4055 option 5.

We hope you, friends, and family members join us for the walkathon on the October 18th to support the cause and help spread awareness on Breast Cancer amongst members of our community.
