PSE&G Prepares for Winter Storm
Extra personnel and equipment at the ready
(NEWARK, N.J. – March 13, 2017) Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G), New Jersey’s largest electric and gas utility, is preparing for the approaching storm system that is predicted to bring heavy snow and strong winds to the Northeast on Tuesday.
“The amount of snow and high winds associated with this storm may bring down trees and power lines,” said John Latka, senior vice president of electric and gas operations for PSE&G. “We take every storm with the potential for outages seriously, and have additional personnel scheduled and on standby, with auxiliary equipment at the ready.”
The utility also has extra personnel on hand to respond as quickly as possible and handle emergency requests. Both PSE&G’s appliance service business and call centers are prepared to respond to customer “no heat” calls as temperatures remain low during the next several days.

Bergenfield Health Department offers flu vaccination
The 2016-2017 flu season will closely be approaching us. The Quadvalent Flu vaccine is now available for area residents from the Bergenfield Health Department. Vaccination is administered in the Health Department's Community Health Rooms located at 198 N. Washington Avenue by a public health nurse. Ages 6 months through adulthood can schedule a vaccination. There is a $15 administration fee for the vaccination. A home visit by a public health nurse can be scheduled as well for the home bound at no extra cost. Children attending preschool in New Jersey are required to receive a flu vaccination to remain in school this winter season. Pregnant women and those who have chronic health conditions are more at risk from complications of flu like illnesses. Please contact the Bergenfield Health Department at 201-387-4055 option 5 to arrange for your vaccination.
